Many people have unrealistic expectations and participate in Cisco certification exam, but they always end up frustrated. Before the certification exam, a lot of people will have the following expectations:
- To be a CCNA certification is the only way for me to work in the IT industry;
- CCNA certification is the golden key to my success;
- to be a CCNA means to get my ideal job;
- CCNA certification is the rule of the IT industry;
- CCNA certification is a big gold mine,etc.
Does the certification of CCNA really have such a big function? Maybe it is the mistaken concept of the certification that contributes to such unpractical expectations.
In fact, certificate examination, take the example of Cisco 640-802, is only used to assess a candidate’ knowledge of certain software, his logical thinking ability and problem resolution ability. However, nearly every client or emplor hopes you are experienced and skillful. And the certification examinations are not working experiences.
In addition, the exam of 640-802 mainly concerns the technical skills, but it is impossible only to depend on the skills to succeed in the IT industry. Therefore, wanting to succeed in the IT industry, you not only need to master certain skills skillfully, but also to need more other knowledge, such as—interpersonal relationship, negotiation skills, teamwork…
In conclusion, before entering for the certificate examination, you should take a careful consideration, and make sure that you have enough time and references to prepare for it and get through. You can also get more useful experience from the media, the Internet or even from your boss.
