Many people that participate in the Cisco exam with unpractical expectations often end in failure. A lot of candidates will hold the following expectations:

  • Passing CCNP certification certification exam is the only way to get a job in the IT industry,
  • CCNP certification is the golden key to my success,
  • I can get my dreaming job as long as I acquire the CCNP certificate;
  • CCNP certification is the industry rules of IT industry,
  • The CCNP certification is a big gold mine, etc.

But is such certificate so important? Maybe it is the mistaken concept of the certification that contributes to such unpractical expectations.

In fact, certification exams such as Cisco 642-901 is to test the candidates’ knowledge about some software, logic and the ability to solve the problem, however, virtually all the clients and employees expect rich experience and skills from you. You know that certification exams can not increase your work experience.

In addition, 642-901 mainly concerns with technical skills. However, you can not succeed in the IT industry just relying on skills. Therefore, if you want to succed in the IT industry, you must master certain skills and know more other knowledge-interpersonal relations, negotiation skills, teamwork spirit, etc.

All in all, you should have a clear idea in your mind and then go for the test, with the sufficent time and resources to complete it. You can obtain the useful experiences from the mass media, the internet, or even from your leader.
